Rockyview has conducted up-front research efforts to understand parties that may be potentially impacted by the potential Project’s development. Initial engagement efforts have already taken place with First Nations and other Aboriginal groups, community stakeholders, Municipal, Provincial and Federal Governments, and business, industry, and labor groups. The scope of this First Nations engagement and public consultation will continue to grow to meet the needs of all of these stakeholders.
First Nations engagement and public consultation that is occurring or will occur include (but is not limited to) meetings with Chief and Councils of First Nations, one on one meetings, open house(s), community meetings, site tours, publication of notices, and mailings. Local knowledge gathered from First Nations engagement and public consultation efforts can be utilized to the benefit of Project design.
Rockyview’s engagement program will provide First Nations and other Aboriginal groups and stakeholders with opportunities to identify and address any issues or questions associated with the potential Project. Rockyview is committed to establishing and developing constructive and positive relationships with First Nations and other Aboriginal groups that are:
- Open and honest
- Respectful of First Nations’ and other Aboriginal group’s culture and regional values
- Supportive of community development
- Responsive to community interests
Upcoming engagement and consultation activities will be listed here and in the News Page.
